Garrus/FemShep

Since I'm addicted to Mass Effect atm and because I'm a "one turian kind of woman" I had to draw Garrus and my Shep.
The scene want to draw is how it would look if Garrus came back to the Citadel and found her..
Trying to become better at values too :P
I don't think it looks like Garrus atm :( Need to work a bit to get the right face and expression :/

Just finished Mass Effect 3 a day ago, cried through the whole ending! It was so sad, but contrary to many I really liked the ending (maybe that's because I had the extended cut :p ) Also I prefer tragic, sad endings to happy ones.
Anyways I got urges to draw Mass Effect stuff now! Got inspired by this awesome pic http://admiraljcb.deviantart.com/art/Just-another-Drell-291267500 so I decided to try it for myself!
Took a pic of myself and then I just had fun in PS ^^
So here is me drell-ified :p (Still WIP)

Just uploaded my weapons to the Gnomon challenge, it was fun painting them ^^ Everyone's designs looks so cool though, makes one feel a bit insecure :P Anyway we'll see how it goes :) Here's the final designs!

Also the reason that I'm drawing them, other than it's fun, is because that I wanted to enter a Gnomon image contest :) And this month the subject is a sheet of 20 weapons, 5 swords, bows, maces and axes.
But since I'm kinda slow at drawing still I don't know if I will be finished in time to enter :/ We'll see what happens  anyway here the are swords! (still WIP)

Sci-fi

Hi all, since I've been drawing fantasy stuff for all my life I wanted to try to so some sci-fi. I've also I been getting more interested in it over the past year, and now that my school course is over I'm finally going to get time to read Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 that I bought about 2 months ago! :)

Also me being a RPG nerd and Dragon Age lover I decided to try out Mass Effect which my best friend Emma got me for xmas, thanks <3 Just finished the first one today :O
So now I wanted to try and draw some cool sci-fi, I suck at it though.. :(

But here it is anyway, just some messy lineart and some colors thrown on there, still getting used to my Wacom :P Going to clean it up and put it on here once its finished!

And I also started doing some more fantasy-ish weapons :) Only 2 started so far, the rest is in my head!

First attempt at digital

Sooo, I thought that I should put some pictures up here then. I got a Intous5 for Christmas so still learning digital drawing and painting, it's quite different from a paper.

This first one is just a simple landscape/environment. Not that detailed, heh, my first digital painting and my first test with some textures.

And this one I made cause I thought I should try and enter a contest at CGHUB just for fun and learning, the titel was: The breath of life.  Unfortunately my internet went down for a couple of days so I missed the contest :( But anyway this is what I came up with!

Hello people of planet Earth!

I hope I'm doing this right.. Although I'm 22 and quite used with computers, from having a dad who's always trying to teach me how they work (I never remember) and from staying up to late playing games like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, WoW, Aion, Tera, GW2 and the list goes on..

But I never really got into this Facebook/Twitter/blog thing, so bare with me if I do something weird :P

Anyway, my name is Josefine, I'm 22 (as I said before) and I live on a island outside of Stockholm in Sweden. And no, we don't have polar bears :)

Apart from drawing I also love to read (fantasy and sci-fi), gaming, singing and training karate (I'm only 8 kyu, been training for a year :P)

I have always loved to draw, been doing it all my life. Although a couple of years ago I stopped doing it as much as before because I started high school and I didn't think I had it in me to fullfill my dream of working with it. And I still don't, I don't have the best confidence. It seams like an almost imposible thing to break in to that industry with so many amazing artists out there.

About two months ago this passion for art was awaken though. I found the youtube site of FZD (Feng Zhu School of Design) and watched them all. I was really amazed by his art, or design as he calls it. It inspired me to start drawing more again and to dream of working with it.  Before I didn't really know what kind of jobs was available for artists. But now I know for sure that what I really want to work as is a concept artist or illustrator! To be able to combine my love for fantasy/sci-fi/games/movie/design and art into one would be awesome.

But then there is that little voice in the back of my mind saying that I don't have what it takes.

So that's what this blog is going to be about. I'm going write about my progress, upload pictures I'm working on and also things I finished ofc. This I'm doing to improve my confidence aswell as my skill as a designer and artist. Even if I never take the step to apply for a school or work as a professional just improving and growing is a victory. My main goal though is to get that confidence to start beliving in myself and realising my dreams!
